Matterport is the name of a company that created a virtual tour software, and therefore, “Matterport virtual tour” is a virtual tour created with this software. Matterport technology works as a platform where you input 360° photos, and it creates a 3D model of the location.
The user can “walk” through the space freely with really nice animations. Also, the “dollhouse” feature is typical for Matterport virtual tours.
This software for virtual tour creation was specifically created for real estate clients and therefore includes features such as measurement features and a floor plan. Need to say it’s not created for marketing virtual tours, so if you are thinking about creating a virtual tour for marketing purposes, we highly do not recommend it.
And there are numerous reasons for it:
- Matterport virtual tours can’t be customizable to your specific business needs and preferences
- Matterport virtual tours will look the same
- Can’t be properly branded
- you need to pay a monthly hosting fee
- Need to use their camera system
- cant export 360° photos
