What type of photos you need to create a virtual tour? Broadly speaking every virtual tour is a digital experience which show the visitor (user) something in and interactive way. In most cases it is a space (ex. real estate building, hotel venue, …) or it is an object (ex. product of the company, art piece, 3D model, …). However, the user needs to see what you (your company) is trying to showcase, and thats why we need to capture it with photography.
Do not get me wrong, a virtual tour can be also created without real images (photos) … for example a virtual tour of a real estate project which doesn’t exist yet will not be created with images, because the building doesn’t exist yet. So, 3D models will be created and no 360° photography is needed. However, in most cases a photography method is used for creating a virtual tours.
What type of photography is used for virtual tours?
Thats a good question … Most of what you see in a virtual tour are a 360° photos (interactive photos which can capture the entire space in one photo), however customizable virtual tour in most cases include also static photos, videos and other multimedia inputs to make the user experience more pleasant. So, basically the structure of a virtual tour is created with 360° photos and other photos are used as a storytelling feature to help user explore and understand the object (product) or an environment.
