Mostly we’ll talk about the importance of professional photography and how you can prepare your space for a photo shoot (even a 360° photoshoot) to ensure that everything will be picture-perfect.

Understanding the Importance of Business Space Photography

Firstly, we should talk about why to take a photo of your space.

Why? Is it important?

Well, if you want to showcase your space to anyone … Yes, it is important.

Photos can tell much more about the space than a thousand-word assay. And 360° photos even more.

Can quickly explain what your space looks like and what the space is for.

Really fast! And first impressions matter.

From first sight, they can understand if this is what they have been looking for or not.

And that is why professional photography will play a crucial role in capturing the essence of your business.

And shaping how your clients will perceive your business space.

The Role of Professional Photography in Business

Professionally taken photos can have a great impact on your business and how it is perceived by your clients.

They can express the atmosphere of the space without being there.

And create a positive impression in the minds of the potential clients.

But only if the photos were taken by a skilled photographer!

If not, your photos may lead to unwanted impressions.

And that is why your business probably should invest in a professional, who can express the emotion and the impression that your business is looking for.

Whether it’s an elegant office space, a cozy cafe, or a luxurious retail store, high-quality images can effectively communicate the atmosphere and experience your business can offer.

Moreover, professional photos of your business space can help establish trust. When your clients see visually appealing static or 360° images, they perceive your business as more reliable and professional.

Do not forget, that the trust element plays a crucial role in the decision-making process.

The Role of 360° Photography in Business

For some type of business, a few static photos of your space is not enough.

Imagine a real estate industry, a few images of the house are never enough. Also, wedding venues, restaurants or hotels need to showcase their space to visitors in a competitive environment so that the clients choose their services rather than competitors.

Here 360° photos come into play.

Compared to static photos which everyone knows and uses.

These 360° photos provide a 360° view of the business space. So that the visitor can explore every detail of the space in any direction.

These photos can look for example like this:

And in the latest years, these 360° photos getting more and more visible in business space photography.

Why? Probably there are a lot of reasons. But I’d guess the user experience plays a crucial role in decision-making.

Preparing the Interior for Photography

Most businesses have an interior space, and that is why we start with them first.

When it comes to capturing the business space, we need to bear in mind that every detail matters.

Each detail, from the cleanliness and order of the space to the placement of the furniture and the correct lighting, works together to create visually appealing pictures that will charm your audience.

Cleaning and Organizing Your Business Space

Firstly, tidy up any clutter, remove personal items, and create a clean canvas for the photographer to work with.

Second, organize the space and arrange the furniture in the best possible manner. So that every aspect of your space will be pleasant to watch for your visitors.

PRO TIP: Minimalistic and organized spaces create usually positive impressions in the heads of the customers.

Choosing the Right Lighting

Lighting is crucial in every type of photography.

No exception to space photography.

Photographers cannot change the sunlight. But can change the time when the photo will be taken, to get most of the possibilities.

Also, professional photographers can enhance the photos with supplementary artificial lighting to highlight specific areas of the space. So that the image will pop!

PRO TIP: If your space gets little or non-sunlight, you should consider hiring a photographer with flash as an artificial lighting. To ensure that your photos will look more natural.

Preparing the Exterior for Photography

For some businesses, an exterior is even more important than interior space. These businesses can be wedding venues, golf clubs, or destination resorts.

Showcasing these spaces can be in some cases even harder to photograph than the interior. And that is why I’ll share with you a few tips on how to get most of your exterior photos.

•             Ensure that grass is well trimmed, and all unwanted weeds are removed.

•             Consider adding visually pleasing elements such as flowers to enhance the beauty of the space.

•             Consider the weather conditions and the time of the day when the photo shoot will take place. Natural light will affect the final photos. Take this into account.

PRO TIP: If your space has unique architecture, please mention this to your photographer, he or she may not realize that.

Most photographers are not architects.

Interior and exterior 360° photography

All the tips mentioned will work also for 360° photography.

But bear in mind that 360° images will capture the whole space. So, you need to clean and prepare not just some part of the space, but the whole place. This is true for the interior and exterior also. This means that preparation for a 360° photo shoot normally takes more time, but if done properly, less work will be for your photographer to edit.

And both sides will be happier.

Working with a Professional Photographer

Collaboration with a professional photographer is the key to achieving the results that you are looking for.

In the next few paragraphs, I’ll share something to bear in mind when working with a photographer.

Communicating Your Brand Image

Before every shoot you will do, clearly communicate your business brand, and style preferences to the photographer. Please do that! Every time!

Because every single photographer likes a different style and will prefer different aesthetics.

branding is not equal to logo it is much more

To eliminate the probability of receiving photos that are „nice, but not what we are looking for “.

Talk to your photographer first.

Tell him/her about your expectations and how photos should look to resonate with your business brand.

Beneficial is to share photos you have and love. So that the photographer clearly understands what you are looking for.

When talking about brand image, try to be as much as possible detail-oriented. Discuss brand colors, tones, and overall brand aesthetic.

This will help the photographer align their creative vision with yours, resulting in a cohesive and impactful visual representation of your brand.

PRO TIP: Do not be afraid of sharing specific ideas or concepts with your photographer. Professionals will appreciate it. Amateurs will not, because they will think that they can do the job better without anyone sticking their nose where it doesn’t belong. But the truth is, photography should represent the brand and not the artistic side of the photographer.

Post-Photography Considerations after the photoshoot

The photoshoot already happened. What now?

Although someone could have said that the job of taking photos is done, it is really a long way from delivering final photos to the client.

Post-production just started.

If you talk with the photographers alongside the process, they should already have pretty good photos. But now start the important part, which involves enhancing the photos, adjusting the light, and making any necessary retouches.

Consider how they align with your brand image and whether they effectively convey the desired message.

If any changes or revisions are needed, provide clear and constructive feedback to the photographer. By actively participating in this process, you can ensure that the final photographs truly represent your brand and meet your expectations.

Job finished: Delivering photos of your business space.

If you followed my advice. You should have great photos that will match your expectations and most importantly your brand voice.

Now you are open to using them on any platform like Your website, Google Business Profile, social media site or any website on the internet.

Good luck!
